If you wish to apply for approval as an assembly center for the livestock trade, you must submit an application to the local competent veterinary authority

Anyone wishing to operate an assembly center where cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, horses or poultry from different farms are brought together for trade requires approval from the competent authority.

This does not apply to livestock exhibitions, livestock markets, the premises of a livestock trading company and slaughterhouses.

• Facilities must be suitable for unloading the animals properly and keeping them in a species-appropriate manner. These facilities must be easy to clean and disinfect. Stables must be equipped with liquid-impermeable floors and smooth walls. Furthermore, suitable facilities must be available for the storage of litter and manure, liquid manure effluents. Alternatively, proof must be provided that storage is provided by a third party.
• Existing rooms and loading ramps must be adequately lit.
• Suitable facilities for restraining, monitoring and segregating animals must be available.
• A suitable place for washing with pressurized warm water and a suitable disinfection facility must be available for the transport vehicles. Alternatively, proof must be provided that the cleaning and disinfection of the transport vehicles is carried out by a third party.
• The disinfection facility must ensure adequate disinfection throughout the year.
• The floor of the washing area must be paved and impermeable to liquids and have a slope to a drain that leads to a facility for collecting waste water.
• Facilities for cleaning and disinfecting hands and footwear are available.
• If applicable, a room for the official veterinarian
• Written or electronic plan for cleaning and disinfection
• On the premises, all traffic routes on which animals are to be transported and all places for loading and unloading animals must be paved, easy to clean and disinfectable.
• Further evidence if necessary.

Is based on the respective administrative fee schedule of the federal state or on the fee statutes of the authorities responsible under federal state law.

Please submit the application several weeks before starting work. Approval must be granted before the start of operations.

The activity may only be commenced after the license has been granted.
