If you have already studied medicine abroad and would now like to continue your studies at a German university, you can have periods of study as well as study and examination achievements credited to your medical studies.

Likewise, you can have periods of study as well as study and examination achievements credited if you have already pursued studies related to medical studies in Germany or abroad.

• Your study and examination achievements to be credited are equivalent to the medical studies according to the Approbationsordnung für Ärzte.

• Crediting and recognition of study periods and study achievements in medical studies is possible if:
  • medical studies were pursued abroad or
  • a study related to the study of medicine was pursued in Germany or abroad
• responsible: competent authority of the country in which the applicant is enrolled or admitted to study medicine.
  • For students who have not yet obtained enrollment or admission to medical studies at a German university: competent office of the state in which the applicant was born; in all other cases (e.g. birth abroad), the competent office of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia is responsible.
