A change of use is a change to the approved type of use of a building. The change of use - even without structural changes - requires planning permission if public building law imposes different or more stringent requirements on the building in its new use. This is usually the case. The procedure is the same as for the approval of new buildings.
- Application form on official form with all necessary signatures
- Business description (for commercial projects)
- Real estate plan (extract from the real estate register, if applicable)
- Construction drawings with entry of the previous and future use
- Calculation of construction figures such as living or usable space
- Proof of parking space for the additional requirement
- Building description and production costs (if structural changes are required)
For changes of use requiring approval, the building application must be submitted in writing to the building supervisory authority. This involves the municipality.
