Following the first examination, a 2-year preparatory service (legal clerkship) can be completed in the field of law, at the end of which the 2nd state examination is taken. This qualifies you for the judgeship.
The following documents must be enclosed with the application:
1. a handwritten and signed curriculum vitae(two copies),
2. the birth certificate(two copies), if applicable a marriage certificate or civil partnership certificate as well as birth certificates of the children and, if applicable, the operative part of the divorce decree(three copies each); (The aforementioned documents must be officially certified by authorized authorities (registry offices, courts, local courts, city) and municipal administrations, etc.) or by notaries. Certifications by schools, parish offices, health insurance companies, etc. are not recognized),
3. an official confirmation of registration, which also shows how long you have been registered at your current place of residence;
4. a certificate of civilian service or military service or a certificate of federal voluntary service or voluntary military service
5. a certified copy (not the original) of the certificate (overall certificate for the compulsory state examination and university specialization examination) for the first examination or the first state examination in law(two copies); due to the distribution of training positions according to performance, the examination grade must

7. the questionnaire (form HJV 102), which must be carefully completed and signed(in duplicate);
8. a declaration of health (form HJV 104), which must be completed carefully and truthfully and signed (induplicate);
9. a recent certificate of good conduct (document type 0) issued by the Federal Central Criminal Register and sent directly to the President of the Regional Court in accordance with Section 30 (5) of the Federal Central Criminal Register Act. It must not be older than 6 months in relation to the desired date of employment.
You must apply for the certificate of good conduct in person at the registration office, indicating the President of the Regional Court to whom you intend to submit your application as the receiving authority.
Applicantsfrom countries not belonging to the European Union must also provide proof of their immigration status by submitting a photocopy of the relevant pages of their passport and residence permit. Employment may be made dependent on the residence permit being valid until the end of the training. To obtain a corresponding residence permit, please contact the immigration authority responsible for you in good time.
The application must be submitted to the President of the Regional Court responsible at least two months before the desired recruitment date together with the complete application documents. Applications received later or incomplete applications can generally only be considered for the following recruitment date
The application including complete documents for the legal traineeship must be submitted at least 2 months before the recruitment date (recruitment takes place at the beginning of every odd-numbered month).

The application for admission to the legal training service of the State of Hesse must be submitted in duplicate to the president of the regional court in whose district the applicant has his/her permanent residence, stating the desired date of admission.
Applicants without permanent residence in Hesse must send their application to the President of the Regional Court to whose district they wish to be assigned (as their first preference).
The President of the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main decides on the appointment.
