The sidewalk crossing, also known as a property access road or kerb drop, is used to provide easy access to a property from the road for vehicles.

If you want to make changes to an existing footpath crossing, you need permission from the relevant authority.

As a rule, work on public roads is commissioned by the city. In exceptional cases, you as the applicant may commission the work yourself from an approved specialist company. This means that the company must be registered with a Chamber of Crafts.

Make sure that the sidewalk is level and visually continuous so that people with disabilities do not have to overcome any obstacles. There should also be no interruptions.

You must bear all costs for the construction of the footpath crossing yourself. If the footpath crossing is no longer required, the costs of restoring it to its original condition must also be borne.

After your application has been reviewed, you will receive a notice of approval or rejection.

If the intended change is made in connection with a building project for which you require planning permission. Then the planning permission automatically includes the permit. No separate application is required.
