Kreistagswahl

The electoral term for the district council is 5 years. You are eligible to vote if you are German or German within the meaning of Article 116 (1) of the Basic Law or a national of a member state of the European Community on election day, have reached the age of sixteen and have lived in the district since at least the 16th day before the election, or your main residence if you have more than one residence, or otherwise usually reside in the district and do not have a residence outside the district. To vote, you must be entered in the relevant electoral roll or have a polling card. Election day is a Sunday.

Proof of identity, if applicable

You are entitled to vote if you

• are German or German within the meaning of Article 116 (1) of the Basic Law or are a national of a member state of the European Community on election day
• have reached the age of sixteen
• have lived in the district since at least the 16th day before the election or, if you have more than one residence, have your main residence in the district or otherwise usually reside there and have no residence outside the district.

You can vote in the district election either by postal vote or by ballot box in a polling station.
