It is also possible to have a birth certificate issued for home births.

On the basis of the certification made in the birth register, you can obtain a birth certificate for the home birth on application.

• in the case of parents who are married to each other
  • Birth certificates
  • Marriage certificate or a certified copy from the marriage register
• for parents who are not married to each other
  • Birth certificate of the mother
  • if paternity has already been acknowledged:
    • Declarations of acknowledgement of paternity
    • Birth certificate of the father
    • if applicable, the declarations of custody
• identity card, passport or a recognised passport replacement document of the parents
• a certificate of birth issued by a doctor or midwife or maternity nurse, provided they were present at the birth.

A marriage certificate must also be submitted if the marriage has been dissolved.

• Notification of birth: within one week
  • The day of birth shall not be included in the calculation of the notification period.
  • If a child is stillborn or dies in childbirth, the notification must be made no later than the third working day following the birth.
• Subsequent notification of the name: within one month
