Anrechnung und Anerkennung von Studienzeiten und Studienleistungen beim Medizinstudium beantragen

Have you already studied medicine abroad for a few semesters and would now like to change universities? Find out more here.

If you have already started studying medicine abroad and would now like to continue at a German university, you can have the periods of study and academic achievements credited.

If you have started a related course of study in Germany or abroad, you can also have this credited. In this case, it will be checked in advance whether your studies are comparable to a medical degree.

You can only have an entire certificate of achievement recognized. Partial achievements will not be recognized.

If you studied medicine domestically, this does not have to be credited.

Study in Germany:

• Application
• Proof of university entrance qualification / high school diploma
• all certificates of enrolment or certificate of progress from your previous studies
• Certificate of enrolment or letter of admission to the medical degree programme in Saxony-Anhalt
• or - if you do not have this - a simple copy of the birth certificate
• Proof of achievement (certificates) from your previous studies (original)
• If applicable, certificate of equivalence (a certificate that your studies are comparable to a medical degree)

Study Abroad:

• Application
• Proof of university entrance qualification / high school diploma
• all certificates of enrolment or certificate of progress of studies
• a simple copy of the birth certificate
• Fächer- und Gradenübersicht / Transcript of records (Original der Universität)
• Certificate (if the studies have already been completed in the original)

• Your studies are comparable to a medical degree

For the recognition of the 2nd stage of study, the following requirements also apply:

• You have passed the 1st section of the medical examination

EUR 55.00 to EUR 90.00

The fee depends on the number of services to be credited.

You will also have to pay the postage costs.

You can apply for recognition of periods of study and achievements in writing using a form from the State Examination Office for Health Professions:

• Download the form online and print it.
• Fill out the form and add the necessary supporting documents.
• Submit the application documents to the responsible state examination office.
• You will then receive the recognition decision or, if applicable, information about the rejection of your application by post.

None.

In the case of original-language documents, you must have them translated and certified by a sworn interpreter.

The State Examination Office for Health Professions is responsible if you

• are admitted or enrolled at a medical faculty in Saxony-Anhalt
• or, if you are not yet admitted or enrolled and were born in Saxony-Anhalt

If you are not yet enrolled and were born abroad, the State Examination Office of North Rhine-Westphalia is responsible.
