As the operator of an evaporative cooling system, a cooling tower or a wet separator, you are obliged to inform the competent authority immediately in accordance with Appendix 3 Part 1 of the 42nd BImSchV and within a period of 4 weeks in accordance with Appendix 3 Part 2 of the 42nd BImSchV if a laboratory test reveals an exceedance of the measure values for the concentration of Legionella in industrial water specified in Appendix 1 of the 42nd BImSchV. The competent authority shall receive the information and examine the measures you have taken. If necessary, the authority will also contact you.
The obligation to provide information is carried out via the "Cadastre for the Recording of Evaporative Cooling Systems 42nd BImSchV – KaVKA" - .
In order to inform about the exceedance of a measure value, a registration in the system KaVKA-42.BV is first required. After successful registration and setting of the master data of the workplace (the location of the plant) and the plant, information can be provided
