The building permit expires if you:

• Have not started your building project within 3 years
• Have interrupted construction for longer than 2 years.

In these cases, you must apply for a new building permit.

You can apply for an extension of the deadline. The deadline can be extended by up to one year.

If you have a permit for a change of use (building permit), you must submit a notification of commencement of use to the lower building supervisory authority at least one week before the start of the change of use.
