You are a company active in the commercial transportation of goods and passengers and are applying for the renewal of existing company cards.

The company cards are issued or delivered to the entrepreneurs or the persons appointed to represent them by law, the articles of association or the partnership agreement.

The entrepreneurs ensure that the cards are used properly. In addition, they must ensure that the company card is entered into the tachograph at the beginning and end of the vehicle use for the company in order to assign the use of the vehicle to the company.

Entrepreneurs are responsible for the regular storage of the data read from the tachographs and must hand them over to the authorities or their representatives upon request.

The application must be submitted in person or online by the entrepreneur or a person authorized to represent them or an authorized person.

Company cards are issued impersonally to the company and are generally sent directly to the company. The company follow-up card is valid for 5 years from the date of issue by the Federal Motor Transport Authority. The validity of the follow-up card is linked to the term of the expiring company card. Renewal must be applied for in good time before the card expires. The application may be submitted no earlier than 6 months before the expiration date.

Operator cards are issued to the operator or the persons and vehicle owners appointed to represent them by law, articles of association or partnership agreement, whose drivers carry out transportation that falls under the scope of Regulation (EC) No. 561/2006 or who must comply with the driving and rest periods in accordance with Section 1 of the Driving Personnel Ordinance (FPersV) or who must download data from the mass memory in accordance with Section 57a (3) of the StVZO.
