If you are a citizen of an EU member state/contracting state/equivalent state and temporarily exercise a cross-border activity in a freely regulated profession (without a branch in Germany), this must be reported again every twelve months.
If you are a national of a member state of the European Union or a national of a state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or Switzerland and you are only temporarily and occasionally exercising a freely regulated profession in Germany for which you are legally established in one of these states, you must notify the competent authority again every twelve months after the initial notification.
The freely regulated professions include the medical profession, the dental profession, the veterinary profession, pharmacists and psychotherapists.
If changes have occurred, one or more of the following documents must be provided:
- Proof of nationality
- Proof of the professional qualification required to exercise the profession in the other Member State, the other contracting state or the state treated as such in which the person providing the service is established
- Certification that the person providing the service is not prohibited, even temporarily, from exercising this activity and that the person providing the service has no criminal record
As a doctor:
- Certificate stating that the person providing the service is legally established in another Member State, in another contracting state or in a state treated as such at the time of submission
- If applicable, information on existing insurance cover under a professional liability insurance policy and, if necessary, appropriate evidence
The following requirements must be met:
- You are a national of a Member State of the European Union or of another State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or of a State party to the Agreement to which Germany and the European Community or Germany and the European Union have granted a corresponding legal entitlement by treaty
- You are authorized to practice the profession in another Member State, another contracting state or a state treated as such and are legally established in this Member State, another contracting state or a state treated as such
- The profession is only exercised temporarily and occasionally, i.e. not on a permanent basis
Is based on the administrative fee schedule of the respective federal state or on the fee statutes of the authority responsible under state law.
- You notify the competent authority of the continuation of the cross-border provision of the service
- Once you have submitted the application and all documents are complete, the competent authority will check whether all requirements for the notification of the continuation of the provision of your activity have been met
Notification of the continuation must be made every twelve months after the initial notification.
