Public appointment of experts in the field of dogs according to the Implementing Regulation "Dangerous Dogs" (DVOGefHundG)
Attention! Please note that there is currently no need for new dog experts in the Free State of Saxony. Therefore, the State Ministry of the Interior is not conducting any information training until further notice.
For dogs that are considered potentially dangerous by the legislator, dog owners must submit an expert opinion on the non-dangerousness of the animals. Only certificates from publicly appointed dog experts are recognised.
If you practise as a veterinarian or are an appointed trainer for dogs in the service, rescue, therapy or disabled assistance dog sector, you can be officially recognised as an expert in the dog sector. Recognition is by public appointment.
If you are already recognised as a dog expert according to comparable regulations of another federal state, you only have to prove this to the district police authority (public order office at the district office - in Dresden, Leipzig and Chemnitz at the city administration).
