When you are admitted, you also become a member of the Bar Association.

You can submit the application using the application form, which you can obtain from the website of the Bar Association, or online via Amt24. Submit the completed application form with all required documents to the Bar Association.
Set up a service account in Amt24 for identification and authentication and use it to log in to the service portal. Have the required documents ready.
- Follow the link to the online application and complete the data fields according to the instructions. You can save the information at any time and complete it at a later date.
- Once all the data fields have been filled in and the documents listed have been compiled, complete the application and the data will be sent to the responsible office.
- You will find the application confirmation in the inbox of your service account. You will receive a notification of incoming messages to your personal e-mail address.
- The requirements for authorisation are checked at the Bar Association's office.
- The authorisation procedure usually takes up to 8 weeks after submission of the required documents and data.
Important: Please note that an extract from the Federal Central Criminal Register is routinely requested as part of the admission procedure. This can result in longer response times, which may delay the overall processing of your application.
- If all admission requirements have been met, you will be invited to hand over your admission certificate and be sworn in.
Tip: If, as a member of a religious community, you would like to use a different form of affirmation instead of the oath, please let us know in advance.
- Once you have received your certificate and been sworn in, you are authorised to use the professional title of lawyer and to practise law.
- As soon as you have received your certificate, you will be included in the directory of lawyers of the Saxony Bar Association and the general directory of the Federal Bar Association.
- A special electronic lawyer's mailbox will be set up for you.
- An appeal against the decision of the Bar Association can be lodged with the Saxon Bar Court.
