If you are organizing a hiking camp and wish to announce this publicly and the arrival and departure of participants is to be carried out by you as the organizer or by persons working with you, you must notify us in advance.

If goods and services are temporarily offered for immediate sale or orders are taken from a fixed sales location outside a commercial establishment and outside an officially designated trade fair, exhibition or market in the itinerant trade, this is considered an itinerant warehouse (Section 56a of the Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act).

An itinerant warehouse exists, for example, if the sale takes place in hotels or restaurants - so-called coffee runs - or in vacant stores that are only used temporarily.

The activities exempt from a travel trade license under Section 55a GewO are not subject to a travel trade license requirement.

The activities prohibited under Section 56 GewO Travel Trade may not be offered.

If the touring camp is advertised publicly, for example through posters, newspaper advertisements, circulars, invitations and if the arrival and departure of the participating persons to and from the location of the touring camp is carried out by the organizing person or by persons in cooperation with the organizing person, it must be notified in advance to the competent trade office. The notification must be made at least four weeks before the start of the event.

The hiking camp may be managed on site by the organizer named in the notification or by a representative authorized by him/her; the name of the representative must be communicated to the authority in the notification. If a legal entity acts as organizer (GmbH, AG, Ltd. ...), a representative must always be named, as the legal entity cannot act on site in its own person.

You will need the following documents to process the application:

• Copy of your identity card or passport
• for legal entities, a current extract from the register of companies, cooperatives or associations
• if applicable, a travel trade card of the organizer and the authorized representative
• the wording and form of the intended public announcement

As a rule, the organizer of a hiking camp must be in possession of a travel trade license. The authorized representative of the organizer must then be in possession of a duplicate or a certified copy of the travel trade card of the organizer.

The fees for the acceptance of notifications in accordance with Section 56a (2) GewO (traveling camps) are currently between 5.10 and 75 euros.

You will receive a notification of fees.

The administrative fees are set in accordance with the Law on the Collection of Administrative and User Fees in the Saarland (SaarlGebG) in conjunction with the General Fee Schedule for the Saarland (GebVerz) (here: Section 601.15).

In the event of rejection:

If an application to carry out an official act is withdrawn before it is completed, up to 75 percent of the full fee is payable depending on the expenses already incurred (Section 9 (2) SaarlGebG).

1. You report the organization of a hiking camp to the responsible office.
2. After your notification has been checked, you will receive a notification of fees.
3. Once you have paid the fee, you will receive confirmation.

The organizer of a hiking camp must notify the competent authority at least four weeks before the start of the camp.

The competent authority may prohibit the organization of a hiking camp in particular if

• the notification was not submitted on time, truthfully or completely, or
• the public announcement does not comply with the statutory provisions (Section 56a (4) sentence 2 GewO).
