If you want to carry out projects in the field of integrated urban development with the aim of sustainable urban mobility, you can receive funding under certain conditions.

If you are planning projects that promote the expansion of sustainable urban mobility as part of sustainable integrated urban development, these may be eligible for funding under certain conditions.

The funding is intended to support cities and functional urban areas in developing and implementing strategies and measures for sustainable urban mobility in order to meet the challenges of reducing motorized private transport.

The funding measure aims to relieve public spaces of car traffic by converting traffic areas and expanding pedestrian and bicycle traffic, including links to local public transport.

The aim is to eliminate urban planning deficits in order to improve living and environmental conditions, in particular by reducing noise, cutting greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality.

• Cycling concepts
• Creation and redesign of public infrastructure to optimize the linking of different modes of transport and/or to improve the infrastructure for local public transport
• Expansion of an attractive network of footpaths and cycle paths
• Conversion of public development facilities into recreational and meeting spaces
• Redesigning public development facilities to create barrier-free accessibility

Funding is provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

• Decision of the municipal self-government to create the concept or to implement the construction project
• Cost and financing plan
• Scoring table - contributions to the cross-cutting objectives
• For construction projects: Cost calculation and 'technical' documents with at least the status of service phase (LPH) 3

• Proof of financing and provision of the necessary own funds for the project

• The project must not have been started yet.
• The project should make contributions in the areas of equality, non-discrimination and sustainable development.
• The overall financing of the project must be secured.
• The project must be carried out in Schleswig-Holstein.
• In the case of funding for the mobility or cycling concept

  • Decision of the municipal self-government to create the concept
• For the promotion of a building project
  • Urban development concept and/or mobility or cycling concept
  • Involvement of the representative responsible for representing the interests of people with disabilities in the planning process
  • Decision of the local self-government to carry out the construction project
    

• You submit a funding application to Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein. It is recommended that you seek advice from Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein beforehand.
• Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein will check the application and request any missing documents or information.
• Once a complete application has been submitted, Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein will decide whether to approve the funding.
• There is no legal entitlement to funding.
• A project can only be started before the funding is approved if you apply for an early start of the measure and this is approved by Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein.
  

The processing of an application for funding for a non-investment project (concepts) takes at least 1-2 months, but can regularly take several months.

The processing of investment projects (construction projects) can regularly take several months.

The deadline for submitting an expression of interest to IB.SH expired on 31.05.2023. After receiving the invitation to apply and before submitting the application, we recommend that you seek advice from Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein. The application must be submitted before the start of the project. The project may not be started without approval.

A further call for expressions of interest will be issued by IB.SH in the 3rd quarter of 2023.

There is no legal entitlement to funding.

The beneficiaries are bound to fulfill the conditions associated with the funding and the purpose of the grant for a certain period of time (earmarking). The earmarking varies depending on the type and design of the respective project and is specified in the grant notification.

You can lodge an objection and appeal to the administrative court.
