Community expenditure required for land consolidation can be funded on application.

The reorganization of rural land ownership and the shaping of rural areas through land readjustment (a procedure under the Land Consolidation Act) are necessary to improve the agricultural structure, to support projects in the interests of the state and to resolve conflicts of use between agriculture and public interests.

Such conflicts can arise from major construction projects such as road and railroad lines, coastal protection facilities or municipal plans such as bypasses or commercial settlements. However, nature conservation and water protection plans can also trigger major conflicts with agricultural and forestry use.

The joint expenditure required for the implementation of land consolidation, in particular for land readjustment measures

• land readjustment,
• agricultural infrastructure and
• securing a sustainable and efficient ecosystem

are supported with grants.

The amount of funding is based on the applicable funding principles of the joint task for the improvement of agricultural structures and coastal protection. The beneficiaries must provide at least 25% of the funding themselves (20% for procedures with special ecological objectives); other beneficiaries should make an appropriate financial contribution.
