Anyone wishing to manufacture construction products that deviate significantly from technical regulations (non-regulated construction products) requires a permit.
If you manufacture construction products that deviate significantly from technical regulations or for which there are no technical building regulations or generally recognized rules of technology (non-regulated construction products), you require the following for the use of these products under building law
- a general building authority approval,
- a general building authority test certificate or
- an approval in individual cases.
Fees are incurred for the building authority approval of construction products. Detailed information on this can be obtained from the competent authority.
- To the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) in Berlin if you require a general building authority approval,
- to a testing and certification body recognized by the building authorities if you require a general building authority test certificate,
- to the Ministry of the Interior, Municipal Affairs, Housing and Sport of the State of Schleswig-Holstein, Department IV 27, if you require approval in individual cases.
