If the obligation to pay broadcasting fees no longer applies to you, you can report this or deregister online. The obligation to pay broadcasting fees no longer applies if you: - live in an apartment as a cohabitant or other resident and have paid broadcasting fees several times up to now - move into an apartment for which broadcasting fees are already paid - are entitled to/obtain an exemption for certain social or health reasons.

• Proof that the obligation to pay contributions has lapsed
• Certificate of registration

• If required:
  • Contribution number of the person already paying for the apartment
  • Power of attorney or power of attorney for care

The obligation to pay broadcasting fees does not apply if you:

• live in an apartment as a cohabitant or other occupant and have previously paid broadcasting fees on several occasions
• move into an apartment for which broadcasting fees are already paid
• are entitled to an exemption for certain social or health reasons

Deregistration: free of charge

You can notify the contribution service of your deregistration online or by mail:

Online:

• Open the website www.rundfunkbeitrag.de
• For citizens, click the "Deregister apartment" box or enter the web code "BF05" in the search box, and the associated online form will open and guide you step-by-step through the deregistration process

Postal:

• Informally communicate the deregistration. As in the online form, enter the contribution number to be deregistered, details of the name and address of the home to be deregistered. In addition, the reason for deregistration must be stated. Then sign the informal notification and send it to the ARD, ZDF and Deutschlandradio contribution service.

The submitted data on the contribution account will be processed by the contribution service. You will receive a reply to the deregistration by mail.

Obligation to pay contributions ends at the end of the month in which the occupation of the apartment by the contributor ends. However, not before the end of the month in which this was notified.

When you move, you automatically take your contribution account with you. This means you do not need to deregister your contribution account for the apartment.
