The Service Center for Preventive Child Health Examinations and the health authorities promote participation in health examinations for children and adolescents.

Volltext

U-examinations

The preventive and early detection examinations for children up to the age of 6 are used for the early detection of illnesses that pose a significant risk to the child's normal physical or mental development.

U-examinations are usually carried out by pediatricians or general practitioners.

If the U3 to U9 examinations have not been attended, the legal guardians will receive a reminder letter from the State Office for Health and Social Affairs M-V (service center).

If, despite the reminder, a child does not take part in the U-examination within the specified tolerance limits, the service center reports the relevant data to the responsible health authority, naming the examination that was not carried out.

Pediatric and adolescent medical consultations by the public health department as part of the reminder procedure in accordance with § 15 b ÖGDG M-V

  • Advice on support, assistance and therapy measures for infants, children and adolescents as well as coordination of measures in the event of undesirable developments and health disorders
  • Offering outreach help to improve participation in early detection examinations for children
  • As part of the examinations and consultations, the vaccination card can be checked and a vaccination recommendation made.

Adolescent health check-up J 1

The purpose of the adolescent health check-up is the early detection of illnesses that pose a significant risk to physical, mental and social development. In particular, the early detection of psychological and psychosocial risk factors is also intended to prevent undesirable development during puberty. In addition, individually occurring health-threatening behaviors are to be identified at an early stage. The adolescent must be informed about the resulting health risks at an early stage.
The adolescent health check-up is usually carried out by pediatricians or general practitioners.

The State Office for Health and Social Affairs of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (service center) works to increase the use of adolescent health check-ups by informing the guardian and/or custodian in writing about the adolescent health check-up and encouraging the child to attend. This should also include information about the age-appropriate vaccination programs.
