Service providers for research and education: The holdings taken over after an assessment of the archival worthiness are processed by the archivists. Their content has been accessed - mostly in databases for several years. For the majority of stocks, however, traditional "finding tools" are still available, i.e. find registers and find books. The content of the documents is recorded in such a way that they are open to diverse and diverse evaluations, as research topics and priorities change over the years. You can use the archives directly and take a look at the archives on site or use them in writing by sending a request to the Landesarchiv. Whether you are interested in local history, family history or other historical topics, the Landesarchiv has extensive archives available for this purpose. It also helps with legal concerns such as property issues, pension certificates or rehabilitations if it has archived documents for this purpose.
The archivists contribute to the evaluation of the documents kept in the state archives through their own contributions as well as to the research and mediation of the history of Mecklenburg. The participation in exhibitions, guided tours of the archive and own publications can be mentioned here.
