The purpose is to promote psychosocial legal aid beyond the requirements of federal law and the state implementation law in areas that are not covered by the statutory remuneration regulations.
What is funded?
The aim of the funding is to provide so-called cross-cutting activities in the field of psychosocial trial support and to provide psychosocial support outside of the actual criminal proceedings.
The funding covers cross-sectional activities of psychosocial trial support such as supervision, intervention, public relations and networking as well as the costs of psychosocial support outside of the actual criminal proceedings.
Who is eligible for funding?
Recipients of funding can be non-profit legal entities under private law as well as corporations under public law based in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern that employ a psychosocial support worker recognized by the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Ministry of Justice. It is not mandatory to employ a recognized psychosocial court assistant as a full-time employee.
How is funding provided?
The grant is awarded as part of project funding in the form of a non-repayable subsidy towards the costs of the personnel employed by the grant recipient.
The grant is awarded for one year at a time. For this reason, a new decision is made each year on the grant for the following funding years. It amounts to EUR 15,000 per staff position in the district court district.
- Presentation of implementation projects and ideas, in particular on the activities of psychosocial support outside the actual criminal proceedings and their differentiation from the tasks and services of other counseling and support facilities, insofar as these are already funded by the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
- In particular, a description of the distribution of responsibilities in the facility, insofar as the facility also provides victim and victim counseling services
- Planned staff deployment with qualifications of the expected employees
- Documentation of the implementation of the project
- Demonstration of the range of cooperation with reference to psychosocial trial support
The grant recipient must offer a professional guarantee that the project will be carried out properly and in accordance with its purpose and provide evidence of this to the Ministry for Social Affairs, Integration and Equality when submitting the application. When submitting the application, the funding recipients must provide evidence that the person employed has been recognized by the Ministry of Justice of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as a psychosocial court counselor. The recognition must show that there is no limitation to certain criminal offense areas and that psychosocial trial support can therefore be offered to all age groups that are considered particularly vulnerable across the entire spectrum of punishable offenses.
Furthermore, the following requirements must be met by the person employed:
- age- and developmentally appropriate repertoire of methods
- conversation skills
- Confidence in dealing with the police and judiciary
- Continuous further training in the legal and psychosocial field
- Regular supervision
- Experience in the implementation of supervision.
- Application
- Grant notification
An appeal against the funding decision can be submitted to the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Office for Health and Social Affairs within one month of notification.
