You must notify the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Chamber of Engineers in advance of your first activity as an authorized building designer. Upon application, you will be entered in the list of external engineers authorized to submit building proposals.

Engineers who are established in another member state of the European Union or in a state with equivalent status under European Community law are authorized to submit building plans without being entered in the"List of foreign persons authorized to submit building plans" if they have a comparable authorization and had to meet comparable requirements with regard to the qualifying university degree and practical professional activity.

They must notify the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Chamber of Engineers in advance of their first activity as an external person authorized to submit building plans.

Upon request, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Chamber of Engineers must confirm that the notification has been made.

Notification is not required if notification has already been made in another state; no further entry will be made in the directories kept by the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Chamber of Engineers.

If you the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Chamber of Engineers has certified upon application that you meet the prescribed requirements, you will be entered in the list of external persons authorized to submit building plans.

The following documents must be enclosed with the notification of the first-time activity as a foreign engineer authorized to submit building proposals:

• Certificate from the state concerned (not older than three months) that the establishment as an authorized building design engineer is legal and that the activity as an authorized building design engineer is not prohibited, not even temporarily.
• Proof that, in the country of establishment, at least the requirements in accordance with Section 65 (3) LBauO M-V had to be met for the activity as an engineer authorized to submit building proposals (professionally qualifying university degree in the field of structural engineering or civil engineering, followed by at least two years of practical experience in the field of building design planning)

• Possession of a comparable authorization as an authorized building designer in the country of establishment
• fulfillment of comparable requirements with regard to the professionally qualifying university degree, i.e.
  • a degree in structural engineering or civil engineering and
  • followed by at least two years of practical experience in the field of building design planning

Fee for issuing the certificate: EUR 125.00

Annual fee for keeping a record in the "Register of external persons authorized to submit building documents" of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Chamber of Engineers: EUR 50.00

  • the certificate,that you fulfill the prescribed requirements in accordance with § 65 Paragraph 3 of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Building Regulations.
• If you have applied for the certificate:
  • your application will be processed by the registration committee.
  • Itmay be necessaryto submit additional documents.
  • With the certificate, the entry is made in the "List of external persons authorized to submit building plans".
