As an impaired person (so-called injured party), you can apply for medical treatment for health impairments that are recognized as the result of an injury or have been caused by a recognized consequence of an injury.
As an injured person, you are entitled to medical treatment for recognized health disorders. If you are severely disabled, benefits will also be granted for ailments not related to your benefits, if and insofar as they are not covered elsewhere (e.g. by membership of the statutory health insurance scheme); under the same conditions, family members and carers of severely disabled persons and all surviving dependants can claim medical treatment.
The type and scope of benefits generally correspond to those of statutory health insurance.
Medical treatment includes
- Outpatient medical and dental treatment,
- Provision of medicines and dressings,
- provision of remedies including physiotherapy, exercise therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy as well as spectacles and contact lenses
- Provision of dentures,
- Treatment in a hospital (hospital treatment),
- treatment in a rehabilitation facility,
- home nursing care,
- Provision of aids,
- stress testing and occupational therapy,
- non-medical socio-pediatric services,
- Psychotherapy as medical and psychotherapeutic treatment and sociotherapy.
- Application (informal application possible)
- Notice of recognition as a disabled person or severely disabled person
- Insurance card from the health insurance company
- Certificate of the consequences of injury from the pension authority
- Health disorders that are recognized as a consequence of an injury or have been caused by a recognized consequence of an injury (causality)
If only the consequences of injury are treated, no co-payments or deductibles may be charged.
Health and medical treatment benefits are generally provided on application. The following benefits are provided directly by the responsible pension office and must be applied for there:
- Dentures
