A harvest stand, a seed orchard, several trees as family parents, a clone or a clone mixture (approval unit) are approved.

The forest reproductive material is divided into different categories:

• Harvested stands under the "Selected" category,
• seed orchards under the category "Qualified" and
• Harvested stands, seed orchards, family parents, clones and clone mixtures under the clone mixtures under the "Tested" category

• Informal application by the forest owner or forestry association.
• The application is submitted to the responsible forestry office and must contain the following information:
  - Contact details of the applicant
  - tree species
  - Age and year of establishment of the stand
  - Size of the reduced share area
  - Information on the area and division/subdivision/subarea/treatment unit
  - Geographical coordinates (if available)
  - 2 maps of the forest area with information on the local connection

Official acts under the Forest Reproductive Material Act

• Approval of basic material for the production of forest reproductive material including entry in the register: EUR 100.00 to 500.00
• Revocation, amendment of the authorization or subsequent connection of the authorization with ancillary provisions: EUR 58.00 to 321.00

Application by the forest owner to the responsible forestry office. The forestry office informs the responsible state office (Competence Center for Forestry By-Production, Jatznick) about the application.

The state office coordinates the inspection rounds (on-site assessment of the stands) of an expert committee appointed by the supreme forestry authority. The stands approved in this way are entered in a harvest approval register by the Land office.

The federal states notify the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food of the register entries and the respective changes. The Federal Agency compiles a list of the approval units as a summary of the register.

1 to 2 years, as only 1 to 2 inspections are carried out per year.
