If you would like to apply for a hunting license, you must first pass a hunting test. You can register for this under certain conditions.
If you want to hunt in Germany, you need a hunting license in your name. In order to apply for this for the first time, you must have passed a hunting test beforehand. In order to take this test, you must apply for a license.
The hunting test consists of a written and an oral-practical part as well as a shooting test.
- Proof that the candidate has completed at least 130 hours of training on a training course recognized in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and conducted there at the state hunting association or a private hunting school or on a training course of at least one year with a mentor
- Proof of completion of two hours of training for each shooting discipline relevant to the examination
- Proof of liability insurance for the use of weapons
- In the event of being a minor, the consent of the legal representatives
- Completed at least 130 hours of training at a training course recognized in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and conducted there at the state hunting association or a private hunting school or at a training course of at least one year with a mentor
- Completion of two hours of training for each shooting discipline relevant to the examination
- Applicant must have reached the age of 15 at least six months before the start of the examination
- Decision on admission to the hunting examination: EUR 280.00
- Decision on admission to the hunting examination without the examination areas of firearms law, firearms technology, carrying hunting and handguns and ammunition and without the shooting test: EUR 225.00
- Repetition of a shooting discipline of the shooting test: EUR 35.00 to 75.00
- Decision on admission to the repeat test: EUR 95.00
- Retaking the shooting test or test subjects 3 or 4 to complete an equivalent hunting test: EUR 110.00

If you submit the application in writing, complete it and submit it by post or in person to the competent authority.
The application and the evidence to be provided will be checked for completeness and correctness and if all conditions are met, you will be admitted to the hunter examination.
