Zulassung zur Rechtsanwaltschaft beantragen

If you want to work as a lawyer, you need a license.

Prerequisites:

• You must be qualified to hold the office of judge in accordance with the German Judges Act or
• You meet the admission requirements under the Act on the Activities of European Lawyers in Germany of March 9, 2000 (EuRAG; BGBl. I p. 182) or
• You have passed the aptitude test in accordance with the EuRAG.

Admission becomes effective with the issue of a certificate issued by the Bar Association. Upon admission, the applicant becomes a member of the admitting bar association. After admission, the activity may be practiced under the professional title "Rechtsanwältin" or "Rechtsanwalt".

• of fulfillment of the admission requirements
• of the professional liability insurance taken out or the provisional cover note

A fee of EUR 250.00 will be charged for issuing the license.
