If you have given birth to your child at home, you must notify the registry office of the birth verbally.

The following persons are obliged to report the birth within the first week:

• the child's father, if he has custody of the child
• the midwife who was present at the birth
• the doctor who was present at the birth
• any other person who was present at the birth or is aware of the birth from their own knowledge
• the mother, as soon as she is able to give notice.

• a certificate of birth issued by a doctor, midwife or maternity nurse, if they were present at the birth.

A marriage certificate must also be submitted if the marriage has been dissolved.
