You would like to hold an event at your airfield where aircraft are displayed in flight or compete against each other in a competition? Then you need a permit which you must apply for at the responsible office.

Aviation events are associated with special dangers due to the increased traffic density and a large number of visitors. They must therefore be meticulously planned, meticulously executed and closely monitored. They place special demands on the reliability of the organizer and the participating airmen.

No aviation event may take place without our permission. We check whether the program and the participants offer the guarantee that the event will be held safely and, in the case of an event permit, we regulate the necessary safety and noise protection measures.

During the event, we monitor compliance with these requirements.

• Consent of the airfield operator (unless the organizer is also the airfield operator) or, in the case of other sites, proof of the right to use the site
• program of the event including flight program
• a map on a scale of 1:25,000 and
• a site plan at a scale of 1: 5,000 with the event site marked on it
• An expert opinion on the suitability of the event site (only if requested by the approval authority)
• Safety concept including emergency planning (only at the request of the approval authority)
• Flight operation instructions of the event manager (only upon request of the approval authority)
• Details of the pilots involved and, at the request of the approval authority, copies of the pilot's licenses of the pilots involved
• Agreements of the organizer
  a) with the pilots or airlines involved
  b) with other parties involved in the air and ground demonstrations, and
  c) with the liability and accident insurers (in each case only at the request of the licensing authority).

Evidence of certifications or declarations for CAT operations, commercial specialized high risk operations, or declarations made for specialized operations 9. (in each case, only at the request of the licensing authority).

Cost range from 50 € to 10.300 € according to the cost regulation of the aviation administration (LuftkostV)

The application must be submitted to the responsible approval authority no later than 8 weeks before the event date.

Action before the Administrative Court

• Permission of an aviation event Granting
• No aviation event may take place without a permit.
• The Thuringian State Administration Office checks whether the program and the participants guarantee that the event can be held safely and, in the case of event approval, regulates necessary safety and noise protection measures.
• Certain documents must be submitted.
• Fees apply.
• The application must be received by the appropriate permitting authority no later than 8 weeks prior to the event date.
