If you would like a specific combination of letters or numbers for your license plate, you can apply for one for a fee or reserve one in advance.

For a fee, you can apply for a special license plate or reserve one in advance. Special license plates can be

• certain letter or number combinations
• the abbreviation of your company
• your date of birth
• License plates from a previous registration location

The transfer of a license plate number to another vehicle is also a request license plate number, regardless of whether the license plate number was previously allocated "as a request" or was in use as a so-called series license plate number.

Please note: You can only obtain a special license plate as part of a vehicle registration. Subsequent changes to a license plate combination allocated to a vehicle are only possible for an additional fee.

In addition to the registration fees, there are also fees for selecting and, if applicable, reserving the desired license plate.
