Age-appropriate apartments
should meet the needs of older people and enable them to live without obstacles. This is achieved through barrier-free access to the home and barrier-free design in the living area, such as elevators, ramps, stair lifts, wheelchair-accessible sanitary and kitchen facilities, grab rails in the bathroom and toilet and non-slip floor coverings.
There are various options for financing appropriate home adaptation measures.
There are also residential complexes for older people, which are often combined with services, care options and care facilities.

Outpatient care services/home care:
In home care, people in need of care are entitled to basic care and domestic care as benefits in kind. Outpatient care services are provided by non-profit or private commercial organizations.

Low-threshold care services
(in accordance with § 45b Para. 1 SGB XI) are additional care services for people with dementia-related impairment, mental disabilities or mental illness. An amount of up to EUR 2,400 per calendar year is available for this purpose.

Nursing homes
(non-profit or private commercial) offer full care up to the most severe care
