All driving licenses issued before January 19, 2013 will remain valid for the time being, but must be exchanged by January 19, 2033 at the latest. A new driving test or health check is not planned. The time limit is intended to ensure that only driving licenses that meet all the requirements of the directive are in circulation from January 19, 2033.
