For the production of poultry from special forms of husbandry, you require permission from the competent authority.

If you wish to produce poultry from special forms of husbandry, you will need permission from the competent authority. They will check whether you comply with the legal requirements.

Special forms of husbandry are

• Extensive floor rearing,
• free-range farming,
• free-range farming and
• free-range farming - unlimited free range.

You also need the permit if you want to specify the type of feeding.

• Fully completed application form
• Proof of compliance with the respective conditions

• Animal husbandry registered with the competent veterinary and food inspection office
• Compliance with the conditions corresponding to the type of husbandry and the type and breed of poultry with regard to
  • Feed components,
  • stocking density,
  • slaughter age and fattening period,
  • Access to outdoor runs,
  • Size and nature of the run,
  • Nature of the barn exits,
  • usable area of the barn and production facilities, barn capacity and perches.

The approval or amendment of the approval is subject to a fee in accordance with No. 5.4.6 of the Annex to Section 1 (1) of the Thuringian Administrative Cost Regulations for the Ministry of Infrastructure and Agriculture (ThürVwKostOMIL).

Depending on the amount of work involved, costs of between € 225 and € 658 are incurred.

Once an application has been submitted and full proof of the relevant conditions has been provided, the processing time is approx. 2 to 3 weeks.

• Granting of authorization before use of the respective term
