If you can provide evidence of at least three years of effective and regular practice as an established European lawyer in Germany in the field of German law, including Community law, in accordance with § 12 EuRAG, you will be admitted to the bar in accordance with the provisions of §§ 6 to 42 of the Federal Lawyers' Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung).
- Application for admission to the bar after three years of practice,
- Proof of activity in accordance with § 12 EuRAG,
- current confirmation from the competent authority in the country of origin regarding membership of this profession (this certificate must not be older than 3 months at the time of submission),
- current proof of professional liability insurance,
- transfer of the administrative fee.
In accordance with § 3 of the statutes of the Thuringian Bar Association on the charging of administrative fees for the admission procedure, a fee of 400.00 euros is charged.
Anyone who has effectively and regularly practiced as an established European lawyer in Germany for at least three years, but has only practiced German law for a shorter period of time, may be admitted to the bar in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 to 36 of the Federal Lawyers' Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung) if they can prove their ability to continue practicing in accordance with Sections 14 and 15 EuRAG.
The Bar Association itself is responsible for issuing a notice of objection as a self-governing authority.
The Lawyers' Court of Appeal established at the Higher Regional Court is responsible for public law disputes at first instance.
- European lawyers can be admitted to the bar if they can provide evidence of at least three years of effective and regular practice as an established European lawyer in Germany in the field of German law, including Community law.
