Expert regulations of the respective Chamber of Crafts

If you would like to be publicly appointed as an expert by the Chamber of Crafts, you must fulfill certain requirements.

The experts are publicly appointed and sworn in by the Chamber of Crafts. This is based on the Crafts Code, the Trade Regulation Act and the Expert Regulations. The Chamber of Skilled Crafts checks the personal suitability and special expertise of the experts it appoints before they are appointed and for the duration of their public appointment. The publicly appointed and sworn experts must provide their expert opinions independently, without instructions, personally, conscientiously and impartially to the best of their knowledge and belief. All trade experts are obliged to maintain confidentiality towards third parties. Experts work for courts, institutions, companies and consumers.

The fee for the public appointment and swearing-in of an expert by the Chamber of Skilled Crafts is based on the scale of fees of the relevant Chamber of Skilled Crafts.

With regard to remuneration, it is advisable to agree this with the expert in advance.
Compensation for the expert's work in court is governed by the German Judicial Remuneration and Compensation Act (JVEG).
