There is no closing time for restaurants in Thuringia. A closing time only applies to the following events:
- Amusement places, events in accordance with § 60a of the Industrial Code, shows, entertaining performances as well as musical performances and other amusements not mentioned under numbers 2 or 3, outdoor establishments and events and events in marquees under the open sky from 10.00 pm,
- Theater or film screenings outdoors and in marquees under the open sky from midnight,
- Beer gardens, commercial gardens and open spaces included in the use for the operation of restaurants as well as other outdoor restaurants and outdoor marquees from 1.00 am.
The closing time for the aforementioned events ends at 6.00 am.
If there is a public need or special local circumstances, the closing time may be generally extended, shortened or lifted. For individual establishments, the closing time may be temporarily and revocably shortened or lifted if there is a public need or special local circumstances; in this case, conditions may also be imposed.
It is recommended that you submit a brief written justification as to why you are requesting a curfew reduction. You should submit this together with the application for a reduction of the ban period.
A time limit is not specified by law. However, it is advisable to apply for a reduction of the blocking period at an early stage.
