You have completed your vocational maturity ("Hauptschulabschluss"), but have not yet found a suitable training place? At Berufsfachschule I (BF 1), you will acquire a basic vocational qualification in a field of your choice.
The Berufsfachschule I (BF 1) leads to a subject-related vocational education and training. The lessons promote job-related theoretical and practical skills and abilities as well as general competences (e.g. in German, mathematics and English) and support you in recognising and developing your personal strengths.
The BF 1 is taught full-time and lasts one school year.
It is divided into the following disciplines:
- Nutrition and Home Economics/Social Work
- Health and care
- Trade and technology (construction, electrical, automotive, wood, metal, media technology and colour technology/interior design)
- Economy and administration
Graduation
The BF 1 concludes with a certificate of acquisition of basic vocational skills and documentation of achievements in the interdisciplinary subjects.
In addition, a degree of BF I with corresponding achievements entitles the holder to transition to the Berufsfachschule II.
In order to register at the responsible vocational school, the half-year certificate of the last school attended must usually be submitted and (as soon as it is available) the final certificate of vocational maturity.
Further information on any required documents (e.g. CV, passport photo) can be obtained from your vocational school.
Prerequisite for admission to the Berufsschulfachschule 1 is
- the certificate of completion of the vocational matriculation certificate, or
- an equivalent certificate
