Further training in the health professions is carried out at state-approved training centres.

Further training is regulated by state law.

Further education centres in the following health professions are regulated by ordinances in Rhineland-Palatinate:

• Management of a functional unit,
• Practical instructions,
• Diabetes Consultant

Further education institutions that want to offer state-regulated further training in these areas require state recognition. They are subject to state supervision for the permanent quality assurance of continuing training.

The application for State recognition must be accompanied by:

• proof of the existence of the points referred to in § 5 Abs. 2 GFBWBG,
• the curricula for the intended training,

a declaration that the training is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Provincial Law on Continuing Education in Health Care Professions and the ordinances issued pursuant to this Act.

You must observe the provisions of the respective Continuing Education Ordinance.

State recognition is granted upon application if the necessary personnel, structural and material conditions are met.

In order to ensure a high quality of training, it must be ensured that:

• the person entrusted with the management of the training centre is professionally and personally suitable for the task,
• the necessary professionally and pedagogically suitable teachers are available,
• at least one person who has completed three years of training in one of the health professions and the corresponding professional qualification for further education works full-time at the training centre,
• there is appropriate equipment and organisation,

premises and facilities corresponding to the purpose of further training are available.
