Persons or bodies that carry out the competence tests prescribed by the Lower Saxony Law on the Keeping of Dogs (NHundG) require prior recognition to prove the knowledge and skills required for this.

There are fees according to the annex to §1 of the Fee Schedule for Administration in the Field of Consumer Protection and Veterinary Affairs (GOVV) in accordance with Section XVII.1.

Persons or bodies that carry out the prescribed proficiency tests require prior recognition in order to prove the necessary knowledge and skills.

The responsibility lies with the district, the district-free city, the Hanover region and the Zweckverband Veterinäramt JadeWeser. For applicants from other federal states, the responsibility lies with the Lower Saxony Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection.

This procedure can also be carried out through a "Point of Single Contact". The "Point of Single Contact" is a special service offered by municipalities and the state for service providers.
