Apply here for the approval of workshops to carry out safety tests on vehicles in accordance with § 29 StVZO.

The permit is only issued after the workshop has been inspected. The date for the inspection of the workshop is agreed when the authority has received all the necessary documents.

• Certificate from the local Chamber of Crafts (informal or copy of the craftsman's card)

of the company's entry in the register of craftsmen or, if it is a specialist company that is not entered in the register of craftsmen, an excerpt from the commercial register showing that a motor vehicle workshop is maintained.

• Certificate from the local Chamber of Skilled Crafts,

that the applicant himself or a person permanently employed at the business premises fulfills the requirements under the Crafts Code for the independent commercial performance of such work as is necessary to rectify the defects identified during the inspection.

• Qualification certificates (copies) and a curriculum vitae in tabular form on the professional career

The qualification certificates (copies) and a tabular curriculum vitae on the professional career of the persons responsible (master craftsman, graduate engineer, graduate engineer FH, engineer grad) must be submitted as proof of the previous training of the persons employed to carry out the SP. For skilled workers, a copy of the journeyman's certificate or skilled worker's certificate is required.

• Certificate of successful completion of initial and, if applicable, refresher training

Copies of the certificate of successful completion of the initial and, if applicable, recurrent training must be submitted for the applicant and/or the person(s) responsible and for other specialists employed to carry out the roadworthiness test as proof of certification of the training in accordance with point 2.6 of Annex VIIIc StVZO.

• Report on the routine test (copy) for the brake tester

For the brake tester to be provided in accordance with Annex VIIId StVZO, a copy of the current report on the routine test must be submitted.

• Liability insurance policy in accordance with number 2.9

The insurance policy (copy) and a declaration by the applicant that he will maintain this insurance must be submitted as proof of liability insurance in accordance with number 2.9 of Annex VIIIc StVZO (claims arising from the performance of the safety tests).

• Insurance policy of the liability insurance in accordance with number 2.10

The insurance policy (copy) must also be submitted as proof of liability insurance pursuant to Section 2.10 of Annex VIIIc (Indemnification of the State of Berlin), which must also show the indemnification of the State of Berlin by the insurance company, as well as a declaration by the applicant that he/she will maintain this insurance. In addition, a declaration of indemnification by the applicant must be submitted stating that the applicant indemnifies the State of Berlin against the claims mentioned in point 2.10.

• A sample of the intended protocol must be submitted if it is intended to deviate from the sample of the test protocol

If it is intended to deviate from the sample test protocol (VkBl. 2012 p. 464 ff), a sample of the intended protocol must be submitted to the recognition authority for confirmation before use. The test report must contain at least the information contained in the sample.

• Certificate of good conduct for applicant and responsible person

not older than 6 months

• Extract from the KBA for the person responsible

not older than 6 months

• Proof of a valid category C/CE driving license

in accordance with No. 2.9 of the Recognition Directive

• Completed application

Equipment and structural conditions of the vehicle workshop in accordance with Annex VIII d of the StVZO.

• The application letter and the required documents (see "Required documents") must be submitted with the application.
• The second step is to check the equipment and structural conditions in the workshop on site.

The information and consultation session usually lasts 45 - 60 minutes.

There are no special deadlines for the application.

In Lower Saxony, preliminary proceedings are not provided for under Section 80 of the Lower Saxony Judiciary Act. Therefore, no objection is permitted. Instead, an administrative court action must be brought directly.
