If you are planning a measurethat will structurally and sustainably develop the process of regional cooperation in the Hannover Braunschweig Göttingen Wolfsburg metropolitan region, you can apply for funding under certain conditions.

Under certain conditions, the state of Lower Saxony grants funding for projects in the Hannover Braunschweig Göttingen Wolfsburg metropolitan region.

Projects are funded on the basis of the respective valid metropolitan work program. Your project is eligible for funding if it strengthens the regional competitiveness and innovative capacity through the intensive cooperation of regional players from business, science, administration and other social groups and contributes to the sustainable development of the region with new impulses.

The funding supports projects of voluntary associations of stakeholders in the region that agree on independent development concepts, define and implement priority fields of action.

Your project is eligible for funding if it is one of the measures that structurally and sustainably develop and intensify the process of regional cooperation:

• Initiation and further development of cooperations, networks, joint projects, innovation projects,
• Creation and implementation of regional development and action concepts, business and project plans, feasibility studies,
• Establishment of regional management with specific project assignments and project management,
• Scientific evaluation support for the further development and efficient organization of regional cooperation processes,
• regional profiling through regional marketing and public relations work and
• investment measures and their preparation

To be eligible for funding, you must be a recipient of funding in accordance with the guidelines. Possible funding recipients are

• the Metropolregion Hannover Braunschweig Göttingen Wolfsburg GmbH
• their shareholders: the associations "Wirtschaft in der Metropolregion e.V.", "Kommunen in der Metropolregion", "Hochschulen und wissenschaftliche Einrichtungen in der Metropolregion e.V."
• Members of the above-mentioned shareholders

• Completed application including financing plan

• Your project will be funded if
  • it covers at least 50% of the area of the metropolitan region or
  • it affects at least 50% of the population living in the metropolitan region or
  • at least 50% of the employees subject to social insurance contributions at the place of work in the metropolitan region or
  • it represents a model project with particular effectiveness for the development of the metropolitan region; this is the case if it is expected that the results of the project can be transferred to a larger area, a larger part of the population or a larger part of the employees subject to social insurance contributions in the metropolitan region
• Your project must comply with the objectives of climate protection and climate impact adaptation in accordance with climate protection legislation
• Your project must respect equal opportunities (e.g. inclusion, non-discrimination, compatibility of family and career)
• To be eligible for funding, you must belong to the following group of recipients:
  • the Hannover Braunschweig Göttingen Wolfsburg GmbH metropolitan region
  • its shareholders: the associations "Wirtschaft in der Metropolregion e.V.", "Kommunen in der Metropolregion", "Hochschulen und wissenschaftliche Einrichtungen in der Metropolregion e.V."
  • Members of the above-mentioned shareholders

You can apply for grants to support your project in the Hannover Braunschweig Göttingen Wolfsburg Metropolitan Region in writing or online.

• You are the recipient of the grant in accordance with the guidelines and therefore submit the application as Metropolregion Hannover Braunschweig Göttingen Wolfsburg GmbH, its shareholders (the associations "Wirtschaft in der Metropolregion e.V.", "Kommunen in der Metropolregion", "Hochschulen und wissenschaftliche Einrichtungen in der Metropolregion e.V.") or a member of the above-mentioned shareholders
• You check whether you can make your own contribution of at least 5% of the total expenditure
• You check whether the project volume is at least 60,000 euros
• You check whether your project takes into account socio-ecological objectives and spatial impacts in accordance with point 4 of the guidelines
• You submit the application by September 15 of a year for the following year(s) (the granting authority may allow further application deadlines)
• The granting authority checks the requirements and eligibility of the application. The evaluation of the submitted applications is based on the eligibility criteria set out in the annex to the guidelines
• The granting authority ultimately decides on the decision proposal of the Shareholders' Committee and the Supervisory Board of Metropolregion GmbH
• If the application is approved, a funding notification is sent by the approval authority
• Once the approval of the co-financing has become legally binding, the approved funding can be requested by means of a call for funds

Applications must be submitted by September 15 of each year for the following year(s). The granting authority may allow further application deadlines.

• A combination with other public funds is possible, provided that the funding programs used also permit this and other regulations, in particular EU state aid regulations, do not prevent this
• In the event of incorrect or incomplete information or failure to report changes to the application, failure to submit proof of use within the specified period or misuse of the grant, the grant may be reclaimed by the granting authority
