If you would like to apply for a hunting license, you must first pass a hunting test. You can register for this under certain conditions.
If you want to hunt in Germany, you need a hunting license in your name. In order to apply for this for the first time, you must have passed a hunting test beforehand. In order to take this test, you must apply for a license.
The hunting test consists of a written and an oral-practical part as well as a shooting test.
Requirements for admission to the hunter examination:
The candidate must
- be at least fifteen years and six months old on the day before the hunter's examination begins,
- have the physical aptitude required to take the hunting examination and
have taken out sufficient liability insurance for the use of weapons.
You can submit the application in writing or, if available, online.
If you submit the application in writing, complete it and submit it by post or in person to the competent authority.
The application and the evidence to be provided will be checked for completeness and correctness and if all conditions are met, you will be admitted to the hunter examination.
