There is no legal basis.

For a lifetime, one could move freely without the help of others. Suddenly, however, you need regular care, outside help, a barrier-free living situation and other support and facilitation. Here are some possibilities.

Age-appropriate apartments:
These apartments must meet special requirements, they must enable seniors to lead an everyday life without obstacles. These are, for example, stepless access to the home, wheelchair-accessible sanitary and kitchen facilities, ramps, stair lifts, slip-resistant floor coverings, grab bars in the bathroom and toilet.

Senior citizens' residences:
While senior-friendly apartments are also individual apartments, senior housing complexes are several rental or condominium apartments, often in conjunction with service offers, care options and care facilities.

Nursing homes for the elderly:
Old people's homes, non-profit or private-commercial, offer full care by in-house staff up to the most severe care. The numerical ratio of nurses and non-skilled workers is laid down in the Home Staff Ordinance.

No documents are required.

There are no fees.

There are no deadlines to be observed.

The responsibility lies with the district and the independent city, as well as with the welfare associations.
