The proper disposal of wastewater is a mandatory self-administrative task of the municipalities (municipal utilities, special-purpose associations, offices). It makes a significant contribution to the protection of Brandenburg's waters, urban hygiene and the health of all Brandenburg citizens. As a fundamental component of public services, wastewater disposal also determines the quality of life in all regions of the country.

Sewage charges and wastewater contributions are levied on the basis of municipal statutes. The altitude varies locally.

With the wastewater contribution, you as the property owner pay a one-time share of the costs for the construction or improvement of the entire facilities of the municipality or the wastewater association.

The wastewater fee is to be paid continuously for the service provided (discharge and purification of the wastewater). It concerns the costs of disposing of waste water and rainwater.
