§ 19 (6) BetrSichV

As an employer, you can apply for an extension of the inspection periods for your operational installations requiring monitoring.

You can apply for an extension of inspection periods for installations requiring monitoring for the following installations:

• Elevator systems
• Installations in potentially explosive atmospheres
• Pressure systems including steam boiler systems
• Cranes
• Liquefied petroleum gas systems
• Mechanical tools for event technology

Depending on the individual case, the extension of inspection periods is possible upon request for the following installations:

• elevator systems,
• installations in potentially explosive atmospheres,
• Printing equipment,
• Cranes
• liquefied petroleum gas plants,
• Mechanical tools for event technology

• Information on the system, the place of use and operating times (design, type of production, quality, operational influences)
• Result of the risk assessment for the plant
• Test certificates for the most recent tests carried out
• Information on the measures to be taken to ensure safety
• Expert opinion on the equivalence of the measures

The employer's application for the examiners to be amended must contain the following contents:

• Information on the system, the place of use and operating times (design, type of production, quality, operational influences),
• the result of the risk assessment for the installation,
• test certificates for the most recent tests carried out,
• information on the measures taken to ensure safety;
• expert opinion on the equivalence of the measures.

They shall establish an equivalent level of security by means of technical and/or organisational measures.

The prerequisite is the establishment of equivalent security through technical and/or organizational measures.

The amount of the costs depends on the effort.

Fees and expenses apply.

You may request the extension of the review period in writing to the competent authority.

• Submit the application and the required documents.
• The authority will examine your application and the documents submitted.
• You will receive a notification of the extension of the review period or a rejection of the review period extension.

The processing time is 4 weeks after receipt of the complete application documents.
