External companies may use the professional titles architect, interior architect, landscape architect and urban planner in the name or in the company only if they are entitled to do so.

The job titles architect, interior designer or interior designer, landscape architect or landscape architect and urban planner are protected job titles. They may only be managed in the name or in the company of an external company if the company as an external company is entitled to do so.

The following proof shall be attached:
- Entitlement to use the professional title "architect" or a comparable professional title or combination of words in the name of the company in accordance with the law of the country of origin.

Liability insurance

Companies that are not registered in a list of companies in the Federal Republic of Germany (foreign companies) may use in their company name or name the job titles, word combinations or similar professional titles referred to in § 1 BbgArchG if they are authorised under the law of their country of origin to use these or comparable professional titles in their company or name.

The companies must notify the Chamber of Architects in advance of the first provision of services. The Chamber of Architects prohibits these companies from using the professional title if they do not prove, on request, that:

1. they or their partners and legal representatives lawfully carry out the activity in question in accordance with the law of the company's country of origin, and

2. the articles of association or the articles of association meet the requirements of § 7 paragraph 2 sentence 1 numbers 1 to 7 and there is professional indemnity insurance in accordance with § 10 paragraph 1.

(2) The external companies shall be entered in the corresponding register at the Chamber of Architects. § 2 paragraph 3 shall apply accordingly. You have to observe the professional obligations according to § 25. § 29 applies accordingly to the prosecution of violations.

Application fee in the list of foreign companies: 510,00 €

Registration is made on request. The Chamber of Architects shall acknowledge receipt of the documents and certificates to the applicant company within one month and, if necessary, inform it of any documents and certificates that are missing. A decision on the application shall be taken within three months of receipt of the complete dossier.

The Registration Committee decides on the entry in the list of the foreign company. The Registration Committee shall consist of the legal person chairing it and the required number of assessors. The Registration Committee shall decide on the composition of the person chairing or representing him and four possessors, of whom at least two must belong to the applicant's specialisation.

In the event of a rejection of the application, instructions on remedies shall be given in writing. It refers to the possibility of objecting to the decision issued.
