You are a company active in the commercial transportation of goods and passengers and are applying for a company card for the first time.

The company cards are issued or delivered to the entrepreneurs or the persons appointed to represent them by law, the articles of association or the partnership agreement.

The entrepreneurs ensure that the cards are used properly. In addition, they must ensure that the company card is entered into the tachograph at the beginning and end of the vehicle use for the company in order to assign the use of the vehicle to the company.

Entrepreneurs are responsible for the regular storage of the data read from the tachographs and must hand them over to the authorities or their representatives upon request.

The application must be submitted by the entrepreneur or an authorized representative or an authorized person in person to the competent authority or online.

Company cards are issued impersonally to the company and are generally sent directly to the company. The initial company card is valid for 5 years.

Several company cards can be issued for one company. The number of company cards to be issued in a card number series is limited to a maximum of 62 company cards per company.

If more company cards are required, a further card serial number will need to be allocated and a new application process will be required.

Operator cards are issued to the operator or the persons and vehicle owners appointed to represent them by law, articles of association or partnership agreement, whose drivers carry out transportation that falls under the scope of Regulation (EC) No. 561/2006 or who must comply with the driving and rest periods in accordance with Section 1 of the Driving Personnel Ordinance (FPersV) or who must download data from the mass memory in accordance with Section 57a (3) of the StVZO.

You can apply for your company card with the required documents and information online or on site at the driving license authority.

• In order to identify yourself online and check your documents, you must have the option of online authentication via a company account and digital upload of the required documents.
• You can pay for the application online via a payment service provider.
• The creation of a company card is subject to a fee.
• As part of the application process, you must provide all the required information and submit or upload documents.
• The responsible office will check your details for completeness and accuracy.
• After a successful check, the KBA (Federal Motor Transport Authority) will issue the company card.
• The company card issued can be
