§Section 4 (4) FPersV

You are a company that operates in the commercial transportation of goods and passengers and are applying to replace a company card due to theft or loss.

The company cards are issued or delivered to the entrepreneurs or the persons appointed to represent them by law, the articles of association or the partnership agreement.

The entrepreneurs ensure that the cards are used properly. In addition, they must ensure that the company card is entered into the tachograph at the beginning and end of the vehicle use for the company in order to assign the use of the vehicle to the company.

Entrepreneurs are responsible for the regular storage of the data read from the tachographs and must hand them over to the authorities or their representatives upon request.

The application must be submitted by the entrepreneur or a person authorized to represent them or an authorized person in person at the driving license authority in person at the competent office or online.

Company cards are issued impersonally to the company and are generally sent directly to the company.

The expiry date of the company card to be replaced (replacement card) corresponds to the expiry date of the previous company card if the remaining term is more than 185 calendar days.

In the event of theft or loss of the company card, proof of a report (theft report from the police) or, in the event of card loss, a written declaration (declaration of loss) must be submitted to the responsible office when the application is submitted. Upon request, the competent authority may require an affidavit.

If the remaining term of the card is less than 6 months, the card will be renewed.

When the replacement card is issued, the replaced card loses its validity.

A recovered card must be returned to the issuing authority or body.

Operator cards are issued to the operator or the persons and vehicle owners appointed to represent them by law, articles of association or partnership agreement, whose drivers carry out transportation that falls under the scope of Regulation (EC) No. 561/2006 or who must comply with the driving and rest periods in accordance with Section 1 of the Driving Personnel Ordinance (FPersV) or who must download data from the mass memory in accordance with Section 57a (3) of the StVZO.

You can apply for the replacement of your company card with the required documents and information online or on site at the driving license authority.

• To identify yourself online and check your documents, you must have the option of online authentication via a company account and digital upload of the required documents.
• You can pay for the application online via a payment service provider.
• The creation of a company card is subject to a fee.
• As part of the application process, you must provide all the required information and submit or upload documents.
• The responsible office will check your details for completeness and accuracy.
• After a successful check, the KBA (Federal Motor Transport Authority) issues the company card.
