Volltext

Further training for academic health professions, especially for doctors, is an important prerequisite for being allowed to practice the profession practically.

During the training, you will learn the necessary skills and abilities for your future profession.

Through the training you will receive your specialist, specialization, or additional title. If you successfully complete several further training courses, you may use all acquired titles side by side (e.g. FA for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine - focus on pediatric cardiology).

The training is carried out exclusively by doctors who have been authorised by the Medical Association.

The duration of the training depends on the respective course. In principle, you must complete the training full-time and full-time. However, exceptions are possible.

As a doctor without specialist training, you are not allowed to work in all areas and institutions of medicine. In the past, doctors without specialist training were allowed to establish themselves as general practitioners or to work as contract doctors. This is no longer possible. However, you are likely to continue to work in a private practice, in emergencies or with practice representations.
