In addition to the state compulsory subject examination, the university specialisation examination forms part of the First Law Examination. It is therefore part of the final examination of the degree programme and a prerequisite for admission to the legal clerkship.

You will be admitted to the examination by the respective university if you have submitted a written application and meet all admission requirements:
- Passed intermediate exam
- Proof of achievement in a focus area
- Further specific requirements of the respective university
- You register for the examination with your university in due time with a written application and all the necessary documents.
- If you have fulfilled all the requirements, you will be admitted to the exam and can take it.
You should inform yourself in advance about the procedure and the requirements at the respective university (e.g.dem examination office).
